Taking a trip to the dentist every six months is a great way to keep up with your dental health, but what if you have to miss your appointment? We have put together a list of early signs that your teeth may be in trouble!

Sore Mouth: Have you woken up one morning and are experiencing unusual sensation such as tingling or soreness? This may be a sign of a forming dental issue such as gingivitis.

Jaw Pain: Dental pain is not only subjective to pain within the mouth.  The pain can also carry into the jaw and cheek areas of the face.

Tooth sensitivity: While sensitive teeth are becoming more common due to intake of sugar and wearing of enamel, tooth sensitivity can also be signs of a oncoming cavity.

Bleeding gums: Did you brush your teeth this morning and spit a bit of blood while rinsing? Bleeding gums are a sign of inflammation and gingivitis.

Dry mouth: The feeling of not having enough saliva in your mouth can be irritating and uncomfortable. It can also be an early sign of you dental health declining.

Redness: redness in the gums or tongue may seem like a normal occurrence, but if your teeth and gums are healthy, it isn't as normal as you think. Redness can be a sign of irritation or infection!

Swollen face or gums: a swollen face may be a sign of an infection in or under a tooth in the upper or lower parts of you mouth.

Broken teeth: if you teeth are broken, seek urgent dental assistance in order to correct it before you cut the inside of your cheek.

Halitosis (bad breath): Bad breath can occur because you haven’t brushed your teeth, but also because of thrush or tonsillitis.

If you are experiencing any of the above conditions, call Progressive Family Dentistry and make an appointment with our experienced professionals.  We will help you receive the dental care you need and deserve!
